TOMORROW: Axa Action (incl. Phone Picket)

CATU will be supporting a series of actions via the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign tomorrow. These actions will focus on Axa Insurance - an ongoing target of the BDS movement - as well as Irish Credit Unions, who are promoting/recommending Axa and Laya policies (Laya are a subsidiary of Axa).

We will be picketing the Axa Head Office at Wolfe Tone House, Wolfe Tone Street, Dublin 1 tomorrow at 1pm, demanding an end to their ongoing investments in Israeli banks. Please come along if you can.

Additionally, we are encouraging members across the island of Ireland to participate in phone picketing of your local Axa and Credit Union branches throughout the day tomorrow. A phone script can be accessed HERE. Meanwhile, a list of contact details for all Axa branches can be accessed below:

Lastly, the campaign has the following asks:

(1) If you have insurance policy with AXA or health insurance with Laya, do not renew – and let them know why!

(2) Contact your Credit Union branch requesting that, if your Credit Union promotes AXA Insurance policies or Health policy via Laya Health Care, that they cease recommending this products and policies.

(3) Place a motion at your next Credit Union AGM requesting that Credit Union listens to the call from the Palestinian people and refrains from promoting AXA Insurance policies or Laya Health insurance. The date and location of the AGM should be on your Credit Union’s website.
