New Post

A chairde,
Firstly for this week, huge kudos to our Comms team who’ve put in a huge effort across our socials in responding to the uncertainty around the future of Rent Pressure Zones (you can read the statement HERE.) We’ve had more than 30 new members sign up in the past couple of days on foot of this output - if you’re one of those new members, welcome aboard and as you’ll see below, there’s lots happening - we have big events in Dublin, Belfast and Galway on Saturday alone.
Stay tuned also for details on other upcoming regional forums, more news on them next week.
In Dublin, there’ll be a Regional Forum taking place on Saturday from 12:00 until 16:00 in Tailor’s Hall, Dublin 8.
As mandated at this year’s Ard Fheis, a Dublin City branch is being established to support greater collaboration among the relevant branches. A comprehensive informational guide has been prepared which outlines what to expect from this new structure.
You can access the info guide from the link below.

If you’re not able to attend on the day, but would like to be considered for a role as one of the branch reps, please contact Helen at [email protected]
Once that’s all done, there’s a social happening up the road in the Thomas House on Thomas Street. It’s €10 on the door, 8pm start and we’ll have music from The Deadlians and Dash. There’ll also be CATU merch available!

Over in Galway, the “Break Up with AirBnB” event is happening in Kennedy’s in Eyre Square. There’ll be stalls and workshops (from 15:30), bands, DJs (from 19:00) and a lovely community buzz all through the day!
Tickets available below:

CATU Belfast will be meeting at 15:00 on Saturday for their AGM. They’ll be looking back at an incredibly busy year for CATU in Belfast in which evictions have been halted, deposits returned and repairs fought for. They also launched their Safe, Secure Homes campaign, ran numerous community days and have grown massively as a branch.
There will be elections for committee roles and information has gone out to email inboxes detailing these positions.
As always, there’ll be tea and coffee available and the branch are looking forward to seeing old and new faces alike. Venue is Conway Mill, BT13 2DE.

In Solidarity,
