A chairde,

Our 2025 Summer School is now just days away - while tickets for the main events in Tailor’s Hall are now fully booked out, there is a waitlist you can join in the event of any cancellations. Click the link below for that.

Additionally, we also have Friday night’s Table Quiz in Peadar Brown’s and Saturday’s CATU Rave in Dalymount Park, both of which are ticketed separately (on the door).

Fancy yourself a bit of a smart arse? Remember the capital of every country beginning with a K? Know exactly how many gaffs presidential hopeful Mairead McGuinness owns? Can barely remember your own name some days but love your tenants union? This is the table quiz for you!

and on Saturday from 20:30 til late, expect very little in the way of seriousness with Naoise b2b DJ Free Time (Frank Sweeney), DJ Bure (Eimear Keating) and DJ Connolly Bewks (Aaron Nolan). Bangers, clangers and all in between. We hear Aaron will be even taking requests ✨✨

Before all that, we’re delighted to be joining the Sex Workers’ Alliance Ireland (SWAI) tomorrow (Thursday) evening for the launch of their Migrant Sex Workers and Housing in Ireland peer-led research report. This will be held in Connolly Books in Dublin 2 and will include a panel discussion with Ana Martinez from CATU, a representative from SWAI alongside one of the participants of the research report. It starts at 19:00, entrance is free and all are welcome.

Looking slightly further afield, we’ll be running a New Members’ Training for those in Dublin on Saturday, August 16th. Come along to meet fellow members, learn about doorknocking, branch building and recruitment, and get an insight into the structures that underpin the union.

It all takes place in the Unite offices on 55-56 Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1, from 12:00 to 16:00.

💪💚 EVICTION RESISTED IN BELFAST 💚✊

CATU Béal Feirste were able to get big numbers out to defend the home of our member Caitríona yesterday. Thank you to all who cane out to support - from the street and further afield.

The EJO and PSNI admitted that they don't have the resources to carry out the eviction in the circumstances and have given the family a stay of a further 4 weeks.

When communities unite against evictions - we win!

In Solidarity,

Naoise Faogáin
